I’m a doctor turned ML research engineer turned founder — building something new at the intersection of AI and health.
Before this, I built tinyML systems for remote patient monitoring. In my doctoral research, I became obsessed with training and deploying efficient ML systems to edge devices (IoT, wearables, cameras, smartphones), and I spent a lot of time figuring out how to do this with ↓ cost + ↓ power + ↓ latency + ↑ privacy. Having experienced firsthand the problems of monitoring patients with neurodegenerative conditions at home, I applied this work to build the first AI-enabled radar systems capable of unobtrusively monitoring physiology, sleep, movement, and behavior patterns in patients with dementia and movement disorders. The system enables senior care providers to predict health events before they become emergencies. I assembled and led a team of world-class engineers and scientists and we spun the work out from R&D into a commercial product now deployed in the UK National Health Service.
Before that, I earned my medical degree and bachelor’s in developmental and regenerative biology at the University of Edinburgh, and worked on a few other projects.
💡 Outside of work, I’m interested in astrobiology, BCIs, computational biology, foundational AI, manufacturing, (medical) robotics, mixed reality, and tissue engineering.
💬 If you’re working on something ambitious in deep tech, I’d love to meet you.
